An Ural Airlines plane crash-landed into a field after being hit by a bird in Russia.

The plane was carrying 226 passengers and seven crew members when a bird flew into its engine – causing a fire.

It was then forced to make an emergency landing in a field near the village of Rybaki – three miles from its destination of Zhukovsky Airport.

Russian health authorities said that 23 people, including nine children, have been hospitalized with injuries.

A terrifying video has now emerged from inside the cabin showing the exact moment it touched the ground.

The clip begins with the plane making a guttering noise as it hurtles over the fields.

Screams ring out from those on board as the plane smashes into the ground.

The force of the landing throws the passenger back and forth and the video ends with the chilling sounds of crying.

Ural Airlines Director General Sergei Skuratov said: "An emergency landing was performed by a plane taking off from Zhukovsky.

"The incident was caused by ingestion of birds into both of the engines. The engines turned off, the crew performed a landing about one kilometer away from the runway."

"The landing was done properly, the plane did not catch fire, all passengers were evacuated.

Moscow Inter-Regional Transport Prosecutor’s Office spokesman Yekaterina Korotkova said an investigation into the accident was underway. Source: star.co.uk
